I recently bought Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder or the Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder after reading the greatest reviews all over internet. Read on to find out my love-hate relationship with this powder.
Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder is a sheer, light coverage powder with a soft matte finish. It comes in a gorgeous and classy packaging with their famous logo on the lid.
Price: Rs. 2800 for 30 gms of product.
How to use: The powder comes with soft powder puff that can be used to pat the powder onto the skin. I prefer using a large powder brush. Take out a little amount of powder into the lid and swirl the brush into the powder. Tap off excess and buff onto skin in circular motions. Start from anywhere you like.
What I love:
This is actually a very natural looking loose powder. It provides a soft, matte, and beautiful finish that’s just the right amount of matte.
This gives a very light coverage. On good skin days, I apply concealer where needed and just the powder. It doesn’t provide real coverage but totally evens out my skintone and even blurs/hides my pores. Over makeup, this still feels light and natural and not cakey at all.
The powder sets the makeup amazingly! It totally hides the shine and extends the wear time of my makeup by 2-4 hours. When the shines does begin to show through, the powder diffuses it and skin looks luminous rather than oily.
Even though there are only about 4 colors to choose from, matching shade is not too hard, since it’s quite sheer. 30 Naturel works extremely well for my complexion and looks good on my sister’s and a couple of my friend’s complexion as well, who are a shade lighter or darker.
What I don’t like:
When my skin is dehydrated and dry, the powder can be a real mean b*#*$h. It doesn’t exactly enhance the dryness, but it’s not kind to the dry patches. It can leave dry skin looking flat, bland and too matte.
The packing is too big to travel with. I end up leaving it in the drawer most of the times. But there also is a pressed version of this powder, which should be easier to carry.
This in my opinion is a great loose powder for summers and for parties or functions. It is an expensive product, but you do get good quantity of product that would last many months or maybe even an year for me. What’s your opinion on this powder? What do you use to set makeup?..Love, Jas 🙂
