The good thing about my skin is that it doesn’t get majorly affected with the change in weather. That’s another issue that it acts crazy all through the year!! I have normal to dry skin with oily T, and large pores on my cheeks (which I hate!!). In winters it gets slightly more on dry side, which is easy because I don’t have to change my facial skin care products drastically. I just update my day lotion to a heavier moisturizer.
Toner: I use Biotique Cucumber Pore Tightening Freshener. This is meant for oily skin, but I use it for its pore tightening qualities. My sis has oily skin and she likes it for its acne soothing properties too. I am not so sure of its ‘no alcohol claims’, since I do feel it to be somewhat drying. But it works as far as the pore tightening claim is concerned. I mean along with cleansing (which it does well too), that is the job of toner.
Serum: I have found a magic potion in Biotique’s Dandelion Ageless Lightening Serum. This is a very light lotion that can be used before or mixed with your moisturizer. I have used it all through the summers (day and night) and it has brightened and evened out my complexion. I made my mother use it, and her dark spots have reduced as well. This is what made me try other Biotique products.
Moisturizer: I have been using Pond’s Flawless White day lotion for a couple of years, but it’s not in the market anymore. So I decided to give Biotique Morning Nectar a try. This is a heavy moisturizer, which is great for winters as it keeps my skin hydrated. This is also good to use before applying makeup, as it soothes the skin and gives a nice dewy look. My search for another moisturizer is still on as I am looking for one with SPF in it and other skin care qualities.
Night time: Along with the Biotique serum, I have been using Kama Ayurveda’s Kumkumadi oil for some time now. It is very concentrated and I find it too heavy for summers, so I used this every other night in summers. But with the weather change I am using it more often. This has reduced the appearance of dark circles (big plus) and evened out my skin tone. I am quite impressed with this, but am still on a lookout for a moisturizing night time cream that I can use every night.
What products do you use? Do you change it with weather?.. Love, Jas
