Kryolan has a huge range of eye shadow colours and finishes. These eyeshadows come in palettes and one can buy single eyeshadows for the colors too. I was looking for a certain brown eyeshadow and on my previous visit to the Kryolan store, I found it, but couldn’t buy it single because it wasn’t in stock. So a while back I went back to the store, hoping to get it and I did and another one too.
Walnut is a beautiful brown color with gold shimmer. It’s an excellent color for crease and looks as lovely for an overall wash of color. The color might now show up as much on much darker skin tones. The eyeshadow is too sheer for my liking. Maybe it’s just the one I bought, but I literally had to scrape it off with my nails to be able to swatch it properly.
Antique like the name suggests is a dull antique green color with light gold shimmer. The color works especially nicely with traditional wear. Again the color is sheer, but it goes on smooth. In the pic, I have swatched it twice for it to show up properly.
Price: Walnut – Rs.450 and Antique – Rs. 300 for a palette refill packing
Both the eyeshadows can be used wet and dry. Staying Power by itself is quite good for Walnut, but not for antique. An eyeshadow primer does increase the staying power as well as intensity for both. With primer, the eyeshadows stay for about 8-10 hrs easily.
Good color and finish options
I find the prices reasonable
No powdery fallout
Kryolan eyeshadows can also be used as blush
Can be used wet and dry
Staying power is good with a primer
Travel friendly packing for single eyeshadows and also palettes
Pigmentation is not so good without a primer
Don’t stay long on their own.
Not easily available. There’s a retail store in Delhi, but even at the store, had to select by looking as testing or swatching wasn’t allowed.
Would I buy these again? Hmmmm.. Yes.
What do you think?.. Love, Jas
