I don’t wear foundation on an everyday basis, but the days when I do, I expect it to provide decent coverage, not look cakey and hang around all day. My search for a new foundation led me to try out the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H. I don’t need a foundation on for 24hrs, but I need it to stay on till the end of my day.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H makes many promises. 24hour wear, full coverage, not cakey, blendable and natural, matte and not powdery. If you read these carefully, you can find a lot of contradictions, like matte but natural, full coverage foundation but not cakey, long- wearing but comfortable. Well, I say it does a good job of keeping its promise.
I have been very impressed with this foundation. I can’t attest to its 24hr claim, but it does stay on for about 8-10 hours. I don’t like to retouch my makeup through the day. Like we girls don’t have enough things in our bag already, that we carry powder, brushes and foundation for touch-ups!! So, i’m glad that this lasts all day without the need to powder as it does a good job of controlling the oil. You can keep blot paper with you, to blot away any shine at all.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H is a matte foundation, but it is a natural satiny matte foundation, which is good because I have mostly combination-dry skin and this still works well for me. On days my skin feels too dry; I slightly wet my brush and apply this foundation for a more sheer finish.
I wouldn’t call it full coverage, but a more medium coverage, which does a good job of hiding flaws, minimizing my dark circles and providing even coverage. And I love how natural it shows up in the pictures. I have used this foundation in the everyday eye makeup look post
At first, it found it a little difficult to apply the foundation, as it looked a tad bit streaky. But, it just needs a little getting used to. I now use my Sigma F80 brush, and it blends in really easy and it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.
The foundation comes in an attractive luxurious looking bottle. It’s a pretty frosted glass pump bottle. The pump dispenses the right amount of product in one go. It has a decent fragrance to it, nothing too over powering.
Now at Rs. 2800 for 30 ml, the foundation doesn’t come cheap, and is more than I would normally spend. But, this would really last me a long time and I feel alright splurging on a foundation, since it is actually a base for my makeup and the base makes or breaks the whole look.
So to summarize, you would like this foundation if:
You have normal, combination or oily skin and need an oil-controlling foundation that doesn’t look too heavy or matte.
You need a good coverage foundation that doesn’t look cakey and doesn’t disappear within few hours of you wearing it.
Need a foundation that looks good in pictures.
You like your foundation to have some amount of SPF in it. This one has SPF 15.
You otherwise have a tough time finding your right shade. This foundation has good color collection. I actually got matched with 2 shades.
You want a good foundation for those looooooong weddings and other festivities.
Have you tried this?… Love, Jas
