Since a lipstick doesn’t stay long on me, on its own, I’m always on a look out for a long wear lipsticks. And that search led me to Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick Womenswear.
Everything that the brand claims sounds amazing! But is it that awesome?
Instant moisture, all-day longwear color. This velvety formula with moisturizing shea butter and aloe is food-proof and doesn’t quit. 92% of women said it feels lightweight, and 95% said their lips felt smooth after applying.
The lipstick comes in about 17-20 shades. I bought Womenswear which is a light pink color in slightly frosty finish. It looks shiny on the lips and not as frosty as it does in the swatch picture below.
Price – Rs. 650
I have 50-60 lipsticks or maybe even more ( I never count ) and I have to say this is the worst one I have ever used!
It goes on nice and smooth but has a sticky feeling to it. The sticky feeling aside, it looked bad within an hour. Lipstick splotched up, with the color creating patches all over and highlighted the lines on my lips, making them look prematurely aged. I tried to blend out the lipstick, but the tacky texture just made it worse. I usually have dry lips, so I thought that maybe it will work well on perfectly moisturized lips. So I tried it again on a ‘good lips’ day with a lipstick brush, but sadly I got the same result.
Few days after trying this lipstick, I met my friend and told her about a horrible new lipstick, and to my surprise, she asked if it was Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick!!! She had bought it in the shade Iconic a few days before and had the exact same experience. I thought maybe I got some bad product, but now I know it wasn’t the case!
Each time I ended up removing it within 3-4 hours. But whatever the condition it was in, it lasted those hours quite well. Maybe the darker shades are better, but I’m in no mood to try!
I didn’t expect a product like this from such a big brand. Revlon should totally take it back and return my money, because it feels like a big waste! I suggest you stay away from this lipstick, there are many better ones out there! Now I’m done ranting. Did you have a similar experience?..Love, Jas
