Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup

Hi All, I’m back with another review for Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup that was launched in India almost a month back. I was waiting for it to launch for a while since it’s been getting great reviews from all over. There are quite a few foundations I wanna try, but maybe later. I have made some other new purchases (which will show off later ;)), so foundations are gonna have to take a backseat for now.

According to the website, the foundation provides:

Medium to full coverage for flawless skin

Soft, matte finish all day long

Withstands heat and humidity – great for summer

I apply this foundation with a stippling brush or fingers and it goes on smooth. It’s medium coverage foundation that you can build up to provide almost full coverage and that too without it getting chalky. It gives a soft and velvety matte finish, which even in winters doesn’t look too matte (if you know what I mean). I have tried this foundation in winters and right now I have a love hate relationship with this. On good ‘skin texture’ days, the foundation works beautifully but if I have dry skin, the foundation insanely enhances the dry patches. This did help the oily T zone stay matte for longer. I feel this foundation would actually be awesome for summers and for oily skin beauties.

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup stays on for a long time. I wouldn’t say that it will stay on for 24 hrs, but I tried it on for 7-8 hrs (without primer) and was impressed with how well it looked on my face at the end of the day, without any touch-ups. Face looks fresh and also smooth because of the coverage it provides.

Swatch for Natural Ochre:

Pros:

Coverage – Medium to full

Staying Power – Stays on for 7+ hrs without a primer.

Finish – Silky matte

Great for summers and oily skin beauties

Skin looks natural and almost flawless and photographs well too.

Sunscreen – It has SPF 20 in it.

Price – At Rs. 800 for 23.7 ml product, it’s worth the money paid

Cons:

Packaging – The product comes in a glass jar that looks high end but is bulky to carry around. And the clumsy me fears it will break soon.

Shade Selection – Only 3 shades!! Internationally there are about 11 shades in this foundation, but only 3 for India. Not fair!! The shade I have is Natural Ochre and I feel is a a tad bit light for me, but is closest from the 3 to my skin color. The 3 shades would definitely not be enough for everyone.

Dry skinned beauties would need heavy dose of moisturizing or a hydrating primer to be able to use this.

Ingredients:

I am eagerly waiting for summers to try out this foundation. If you can find your shade, I would recommend you try this foundation. You never know, this might end up being the one!!

Love, Jas :)
